Playground Design Project
A Modular Playground Design for 5 - 8 year olds in Christchurch
Some quick stylized keyshot renderings using the CAD model I made for a playground design project.
The focus was on providing a safe climbing experience for younger children otherwise left out in play.
This design fulfilled the brief through the use of a modular tube, ball and net system.
The often unseen work in projects like these is the days spent sketching and ideating. But that is part of the fun 🙂, and learning how to communicate your thoughts to someone other than yourself is important, because every group project I do shows me that different people have very different criteria for deciding whether an idea is good or not.
This project involved research through many real world observations and testing, and conversations with the city council and with parents of our target market (children aged 5 - 8).
It was important to realize that people do not often know exactly what they want, and that an unbiased opinion should not only exclude your own biases.
